MARTHA REEVES & THE VANDELLA CONTRACT RIDER

Annexed to and made a part of contract dated _______________________ , 200___
Between:  MARTHA REEVES ENTERPRISES f/s/o MARTHA REEVES & THE VANDELLAS  (hereinafter "ARTIST")
And:         _______________________________________________________________ (hereinafter "Purchaser")

This rider will become part and parcel of the contract and must be signed by the purchaser or contract will become NULL AND VOID. 

Purchaser is to provide at no cost to ARTIST and their band the following:  
1. 

TRANSPORTATION

  1. Purchaser shall provide a total of seven (7) round-trip airfares; one (1) first class and six (6) coach. Departure and return cities to be advised by the Artist's management. All flight itineraries must be reviewed and confirmed by Artist's management before the ticketing process.

  2. Purchaser must pay for and provide all internal transportation for Artist and Artistís staff: one (1) limousine for Martha & the Vandellas, one (1) ten passenger van for Artistís entourage and baggage, airport pick-up and return as well as transportation to and from venue for both rehearsal and performance.

 
2.

ACCOMMODATIONS:

Purchaser shall provide a total of seven (7) hotel rooms: one (1) suite and (6) single rooms at no cost to Artist. Rooms must be in a first class or four star hotel (Marriott or better)

  1. Hotel address, phone, fax and confirmation number (directions if necessary) must be provided at least seven (7) days prior to date of engagement.

 
3. 

SOUND REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Purchaser shall provide a First Class House System capable of reproducing undistorted, evenly distributed sound. Recommended frequency response to be no less than 110db-spl with frequency response from 50Hz to 16kHz + or - 3dB throughout the seating area.

  2. House system should be equipped with 1/3 octave equalization for all sends and must include one (1) Yamaha SPX 90 digital effects processor and one (1) digital delay unit.

  3. Artist must be provided with a first class wireless mic (Cetec Vega preferred) and a back-up.

  4. Purchaser shall provide a minimum of six (6) bi-amped monitor wedges and two (2) side fills with five (5) separate mixes.

  5. Purchaser shall provide two (2) experienced sound technicians for Artist's rehearsal and performance.

  6. Purchaser agrees to have all sound equipment set up and operable prior to Artist's rehearsal.

 
4. 

LIGHTING REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Purchaser shall provide a minimum of a four (4) color wash using 24 1k par 64 instruments plus 4 1k par 64 instruments 
    floor mounted as drum specials. (16 ACL's and fog requested but not required.)

  2. Purchaser shall provide one (1) follow spotlight in good working condition and a three position clearcom.

  3. Purchaser shall provide two (2) experienced lighting technicians for both rehearsal and performance.

  4. Purchaser agrees to have all lighting set up and operable prior to Artist's rehearsal.

 
5.  EQUIPMENT:

Purchaser agrees to furnish the following equipment at no cost to the Artist:

(1) FIVE (5) PIECE DRUM SET (DW or YAMAHA)
(1) ROLAND JC-120 GUITAR AMP (OR FENDER TWIN)
(1) KURZWEIL K2500X OR K2500
(1) CUBE AMP (FOR KEYBOARD) ALL PEDALS, CABLES, MIDI CABLES AND PLUGS AND KEYBOARD STAND
(1) GALIN KRUGER BASS AMPLIFIER
(8) MANHASSET STYLE MUSIC STANDS W/LIGHTS

 
6. 

MUSICIANS

Purchaser agrees to furnish the following musicians at no cost to the Artist:

(2) TRUMPET PLAYERS
(1) ALTO SAX PLAYER
(1) TENOR SAX PLAYER
(1) BARITONE SAX PLAYER
(1) TROMBONE PLAYER

  1. All musicians must be capable of reading notes as well as chord charts.

  2. Musicians must be available for a rehearsal consisting of two (2) consecutive hours within a 24 hour period prior to the commencement of the first performance of each engagement hereunder.

  3. No member of the general public shall be permitted in the performance area until Artist or Artist's representative have completed the full rehearsal, set-up and soundcheck.

 
7. 

Artist shall have at least two (2) consecutive hours of rehearsal time on stage with musicians and full technical crews.

 
8. DRESSING ROOMS:

Purchaser shall provide two (2) clean, well-lit, well-maintained, dressing rooms with either a key lock or a security guard posted at the door. The rooms should be large enough to hold eight people comfortably in each. The rooms should have access to at least one private clean restroom facility that is serviced by hot and cold running water and standard electrical outlets. Mirrors should be adjoining directly accessible to the stage area.

 
9. CATERING:

Purchaser agrees to provide the following refreshments in the dressing room at least one hour prior to showtime:

(2) BOTTLES OF PEISPORTER WINE (WHITE ZINFANDEL AS SUBSTITUTE)
(2) SIX-PACKS OF IMPORTED BEER (BECKS / LOCAL FAVORITE)
(1) DELI TRAY W/FRESH TURKEY OR CHICKEN, CHEESES, VEGGIES, ASSORTED BREADS AND CONDIMENTS (NO RED MEAT)
(1) PLATTER OF FRESH FRUIT (WHOLE)
(1) CASE OF COCA COLA AND 7-UP (NO DIET)
(l2) 8 OZ. BOTTLES OF EVIAN WATER
(1) COFFEE AND TEA (CHAMOMILE) SERVICE WITH CONDIMENTS INCLUDING HONEY & LEMON
(4) QUARTS OF JUICE AS FOLLOWS: GRAPE, APPLE, ORANGE AND GRAPEFRUIT
(6) BATH TOWELS IN DRESSING ROOM 1 HOUR PRIOR TO SHOW
(6) HOT MEALS (MENU AND TIME TO BE ARRANGED WITH ARTIST MANAGEMENT) 

IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING PERFORMANCE

(1) BUCKET (24) PIECES ASSORTED FRIED CHICKEN
(1) POUND COLE SLAW
(1) POTATO SALAD
(1) POUND MACARONI SALAD
(1) DOZEN ROLLS

IN ADDITION: PLATES/NAPKINS/KNIVES/FORKS/CONDIMENTS

 
10. SECURITY:
  1. VENUE - Producer shall guarantee proper security at all times to insure the safety of Artist, Artist's instruments, wardrobe, supporting personnel and personal property before, during and after each rehearsal and performance as well as securing the areas of the dressing rooms, stage areas and all exits and entrances to the facility. Security protection shall commence upon arrival of Artist's equipment at the airport and shall continue until Artist's equipment is completely removed from the venue or as directed by Artist's representative.

  2. STAGE - Producer agrees to provide ample security as directed by Artist's representative in the on-stage area to keep persons not directly connected with the performance clear of the stage area and the backstage area.

NO ONE other than those designated by the Artist and/or Artist's representative shall have access to on-stage or backstage area at any time.

 
11. MERCHANDISING:
  1. Artist shall receive 100% billing in any and all publicity releases and paid advertisements, including but not limited to programs, flyers, signs, lobby boards and marquees.

    The following is the only acceptable way Artist shall be billed:

  3. Purchaser agrees to use only publicity materials provided by Artist or a representative and further agrees that all advertising and publicity is subject to approval prior to release.

  4. Purchaser will NOT permit Artist's name to be used or associated directly or indirectly with any product or service without the Artist's written consent.

  5. Purchaser will NOT permit the recording or broadcast, oral and/or visual, of any performance without the express prior consent of the Artist.

 
12. CANCELLATION:

Artist has the right to cancel the engagement up to thirty (30) days prior to the actual date of performance if booked on a national TV
show, casino date or major convention, Broadway or theatrical presentation.
 
13. FORCE MAJEURE:
  1. Artist's obligations hereunder are subject to the detention or prevention by sickness, inability to perform, accident by means 
    of transportation, act of God, riots, strikes, labor difficulties, epidemics, and an act or order of any public authority or cause, 
    similar or dissimilar beyond Artist's control.

  2. Purchaser's obligation is likewise subject to purchaser's inability to perform by reason of accident, act of God, riot, strikes, labor
    difficulties or any cause similar or dissimilar beyond Purchaser's control.

 
THE ABOVE AND ALL ITS ATTACHMENTS CONSTITUTES THE SOLE, COMPLETE AND BINDING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE PARTIES HERETO.  THIS ENTIRE CONTRACT HAS BEEN READ AND ENTIRELY UNDERSTOOD BY THE UNDERSIGNED, AS HAS BEEN ALL ITS ATTACHED RIDERS AND TERMS.
